Updates are expected with regular weekly maintenance, which usually happens on Fridays. There is a notice a day prior. Any banner teases will also be done around this time.
Maintenance lasts around 1 PM-6 PM JST but has a record of extending up to 11 PM or 12 AM JST.
The compensation for maintenance is four Dragon Vein Stones, even when extensions occur.

Game news is posted here. And usually goes up a bit earlier than when their X account makes an announcement.
